Endophthalmitis
Charles Wykoff, MD, PhD, is co-director of the Greater Houston Retina Research Foundation with Retina Consultants of Houston. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from MIT, received his PhD from Oxford University in England while on a Marshall Scholarship, and his MD from Harvard Medical School. As a medical student, he co-authored the book Fighting Global Blindness. Dr. Wykoff completed his ophthalmology residency and vitreoretinal fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the top rated eye hospital in the country; while there he was awarded a Heed Fellowship, the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Award, the nation’s highest honor for a retina surgery fellow, and served as chief resident/co-director of Ocular Trauma.
D. Wilkin Parke III, MD, is a vitreoretinal specialist with VitreoRetinal Surgery, PA, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He received a degree in history with a pre-medical focus from Princeton University. He attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Parke completed an internship in Internal Medicine through the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency and surgical retina fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida. During his last year of fellowship, he was chief resident at Bascom Palmer as well as director of the Ocular Trauma Service. Dr. Parke joined VitreoRetinal Surgery, PA in 2013.
Sonia H. Yoo, MD, is currently professor of ophthalmology with a joint appointment in biomedical engineering and associate medical director at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Yoo received her BA at Stanford University in California and her MD at Case Western Reserve University in Ohio.
