Binge eating disorder
Anna I. Guerdjikova, PhD, LISW, CCRC, serves as a staff licensed social worker for Lindner Center of HOPE, with a primary focus in the treatment of adult patients with eating disorders and mood disorders. Within the Harold C. Schott Foundation Eating Disorders Program, Dr. Guerdjikova serves as a director of administrative services. She is an outpatient therapist, inpatient group facilitator, and an assessment/outcomes coordinator.
Charles Vega, MD, completed his undergraduate degree at Harvard University in Boston. He attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed residency training in family medicine at University of California, Irvine (UCI). He stayed on as faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at UCI and now holds the title of Health Sciences Clinical Professor. Dr. Vega is also the executive director of UCI's Program in Medical Education for the Latino Community and won a Macy Faculty Scholarship to improve patient-centered health education at UCI.| 1. | Describe diagnostic criteria for binge eating disorder (BED) as well as common conditions with which BED comorbidly occurs | 2. | Implement screening for BED into daily practice among at-risk patients |
